Legal Process for processing data

Processing data is necessary for the purposes of legitimate interest by Network Trade Insurance Services Ltd as an Insurance Intermediary except where such interests are overridden by the interests, rights, and freedoms of the data subject (you). We will never process any type of information without your explicit consent.

What information shall we collect?

When you contact us for a quotation we will collect the relevant information needed by an insurer to calculate the premium and understand your insurance needs. The information varies for each customer dependent on type of insurance they require. Information can be collected by telephone, face-to-face or by email.

How do we store your personal data?

We hold your personal data electronically and all our systems are securely backed up and encrypted to protect your data from cyber-attacks and on-line hackers. All staff are aware of the actions that need to be taken to prevent loss of data from unauthorized sources.

How your information will be used and who we might share it with?

The information we collect will be passed to insurers, or other intermediaries, to enable them to calculate a competitive quotation on your behalf or deal with any claim you wish to make. We will not pass on your information to any firm that is not authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Information provided by you may be added to a register of claims and shared with other insurers to help in the prevention of fraudulent claims we may share your data with other third parties if we are legally obliged to.

Your information will also be passed to a premium finance provider if you request to pay your premium in instalments.

The finance provider will also carry out credit searches before they confirm credit is available.

How long will we keep your data for?

We will retain any information we collect about you for up to  6 years after our professional relationship has ended. This period may be extended in certain circumstances.

Your right to access your data.

Under the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you free of charge. If you believe the information held is incorrect or incomplete, you should contact us (using the contact information below). Any information that is found to be incorrect or incomplete will be rectified immediately.

Erasure Rights

You have the right to request the deletion or removal of your personal data if you feel there is no compelling reason for its continued processing.

Your right to object

Under the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to object to us processing personal data based on grounds relating to your situation. If you object to us processing your data we will stop unless there are compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or, the processing is for the establishment, exercise or defense of a legal claim.

Your right to complain.

Marketing

We take your privacy seriously and will only use your personal information to administer your record and provide the products and services you have requested. We will not share your information with any other company for marketing purposes without your consent.
